We’ve collected the best weekly activities for you and your family in and around London this weekend. This week’s round up includes a rave, a dog show, a fantastic festival and much more!

Baby Jazz

Singer and founder Ruby Barker’s baby jazz class appears to be the talk of the town at the moment. Expect singing, dancing and live jazz music accompanied with percussion and lots of fun. Your baby will love the sounds and vibrance of this jazz occasion. It’s worth signing up to a few classes with the pick ‘n’ mix deal to vary which classes you go along to.

Tate Modern’s 8-14s Studio

They’ll have a chance to create alongside the artist and learn about art though physical games and sensory activities. This session’s artist Freddie Opoku-Addaie specialises in movement-based pieces and the workshop will inspire his next creative work – cool, huh?

Piccolo Singing, Music And Dancing

The very little ones will love this music and puppetry drop-in session, where Victoria Park’s hugely popular music group have been entertaining little ones since 2004. It’s a fabulous way to get your baba involved with music and dancing – perfect stimulating their little imaginations.

Children will be able to take creations home and continue the coding and engineering experience – maybe they’ll teach you a thing or two as well!

Skateboarding At House Of Vans

Okay — we admit this one isn’t for everyone. House of Vans recently reopened their excellent skate venue in the Old Vic Tunnels at Waterloo. All skateboards and kit are provided, so book in for a rollerblading/skate session this weekend. The venue isn’t only for skating and shredding though. Pull up a bean bag and get comfy for film showings; this weekend includes School of Rock and animation Inside Out.

Big Fish Little Fish ‘Once Upon A Time’ Fairytale Family Rave

Glastonbury performers BFLF are hosting an incredible family-friendly rave this weekend under the Westway at Portobello Road. Expect live DJs, glitter cannons, bubbles and the parachute dance. The family fun doesn’t stop there: we hear they’ll be play area tents and tunnels, Captain Cookie Crafts tables, and a licensed bar for the adults too!

Inner Temple Dog Show

London loves dogs. We know this because each week there’s a dog parade, festival, or competition taking place somewhere in the city. This week’s dog show aims to find the dog with the waggiest tale and the best floral outfit (for dogs, we assume?). As part of the Chelsea Fringe festival, this show will celebrate the bond between dog and gardener. Picnics on the lawn are encouraged and French crepes will be available. See you there.

WHEN: Sun 21 May, 1-4pm
WHERE: Inner Temple Garden, EC4Y 9AY
GREAT FOR: All the family

East London Bubble Rush

If you live in London, you’ve probably experienced at least one colour run, or seen people on the tube doused in vibrant paint and thought ‘that looks fun’. How about something slightly different but equally as fun? The East London Bubble Rush is taking place this weekend and all the family are invited. Walk, run, or dance through the bubbles and hopefully raise some money for a good cause.

WHERE: Olympic Park, E20 2ST

Heads up: Belgravia In Bloom

The six-day flower festival in Belgravia starts this weekend and is set to bring back the colourful celebration and vibrance to the area for the second year running. The flower theme this year is children’s literature, so it’s definitely worth going along to see if your children can recognise any of their storybook favourites. Try to spot James and the Giant Peach and Paddington Bear.

Restaurant of the week: The Grazing Goat

This family-friendly restaurant is Marylebone’s best kept secret. It’s perfect for a family lunch in the city. The charming dining room offers an all-day British menu, including pan-fried cod, fish and chips, pork loin, all of which is made from local produce. The children’s menu offers some comfortable British classics including beef burgers and sausage and mash. If you’re visiting on Sunday, we recommend the lunch time roast.
