I really enjoyed reading doctor Ellie Cannon’s The New Mum’s Manual. I’m just a bit gutted that it wasn’t around when I had my first. It’s got a lovely foreward by Jools Oliver, who says it’s just as helpful after having your fourth, and I kind of agree.
Dr Canon is in her thirties, and she’s a modern day GP, but best of all, she’s a doctor and a mother! She’s got an amazing background with oodles of experience, and I love her style of writing. In essence, it tells you to trust your instincts, but at the same time, reassures you about all those things that at that time are so crucially important to a new mother.
