I’ve never found buying presents an easy task but with the influx of internet shopping, it’s been made far easier over the past years.
Most houses look like florists when you come home from hospital and I was lucky enough to have a few bouquets which came in their own hassel free vase. Genius idea!
Another thought is, do you buy something for the mother, the baby, or both? I’ve selected some of the best presents I’ve been given and have subsequently bought and given to friends when they’ve had babies. I feel that any new mother would be happy if presented with one of the below.
For a mother of twins, nothing (apart from perhaps a maternity nurse) can beat the Pink Lining Twin’s Nappy Bag. It’s utterly fabulous and just the ticket for all those extra bits needed for two.
Happy Box London has a selection of great new mother boxes but my favourite is this perfect mix of teddy, candle and cashmere blanket to snuggle in to.
Baby Box London is rather new to me and top on my list. They’ve thought of everything. Presents start at a tenner and go sky high. You can create your own box but if you’re looking for something just for the mama, they have the ultimate in luxury with their, ‘Something for Mama’ box filled to the brim with scrumptious treats.
A friend of mine gave me a pair of these adorable bunny slippers from Trotters and my daughter lived in them. Sadly they grow out of them too quickly and I only wish they did them in adult sizes.
I was sent this awesome tin of iced biscuits by Biscuiteer when I had my daughter and it will always stick in my mind. My son wasn’t at all impressed with the new arrival so I popped on in my daughters hand and she gave it to her brother. He’s ben mad about her ever since.
My mother in law gave me this incredible basket of goodies from Bamford when my first arrived and I’m obsessed with every piece. The products from soap, oil and balm, to cream and talc are ideal for sensitive newborn skin and work wonders on ours too. The scent reminds me of sleep and the nursery always feels calm when I use them. The rabbit is soft and sweet and the basket is very useful – ours is filled with fresh nappies.
Molliemoo is a great company that I found on Not On The High Street and they have masses of gift box ideas. Again I’ve gone for the mixed box with something for both mama and baba.
A friend gave me my first bouquet from Baby Blooms and it put such a smile on my face. A gorgeous bouquet filled with soft cotton hats, socks, babygrows and a few other staples. A wonderful present!
Booboos have a lovely range of natural body products and I love this Little Box Of Boo Boos which has minis of their top selling products.
Lastly Babes With Babes have a lovely selection of boxes. The one that caught my eye for a friend recently was the Hello Baby, Hello Mummy set which comes with oil, balm and a sweet white teddy.
