If you’re looking for Easter toys for kids that aren’t chocolate, there are plenty of fun alternatives that make perfect basket fillers or egg hunt surprises.
While chocolate eggs are a classic Easter treat, many parents are now mixing things up with toys, collectibles and creative play sets that last far longer than a few minutes.
From magical dolls to mini crafting kits and imaginative role-play toys, these Easter gift ideas are perfect for adding a little extra excitement to the celebrations — and they make great prizes for Easter egg hunts, too.
Here are some of our favourite non-chocolate Easter gifts for kids this year.
Perfect for little ones who love imaginative play, the Little Tikes Creative Chefs Easter Basket Kit combines Easter crafting with pretend baking fun. Children can experiment with making dyed eggs and sweet treats using the reusable Make-It! Mix, while hyper-realistic accessories help bring their creations to life.
One of the most exciting features is watching the eggs change colour in ice-cold water, or using the mould to create a classic chocolate bunny. Each egg also contains a surprise toy inside, adding to the excitement.
The included Easter basket doubles as storage and a handy way to carry everything for on-the-go playtime.
For children who love collectables, the L.O.L. Surprise! Mermaids Makeover Magic Tots bring a creative twist to the popular doll range.
Each adorable Tot comes with a detachable mermaid tail and two shimmery colours that can be mixed together to create unique make-up looks. The make-up can be stored inside the Tot, making it easy to take along for playdates or travel.
There are six characters to collect, making them a great Easter basket surprise.
The range also includes the Mermaids Makeover Magic Baby Sisters, featuring a fun make-up stamp hidden inside the tail.
For children who love crafting and collectables, MGA’s Miniverse Make It Mini Spring brings a creative, hands-on experience.
Each blind ball contains one of four spring-themed mini creations to craft and collect. Using a recipe-style card, kids can assemble their miniature masterpiece before curing the resin in sunlight or with a UV light.
Once finished, the mini creation can be displayed on a special spring-themed display table included in the collection. There’s even an ultra-rare surprise to discover — the Birds Nest Treats.
It’s a fun combination of crafting, collecting and unboxing that’s perfect for older children.

Fans of Rainbow High will love the new Littles Fantasy Fairies collection, which introduces a magical fairy theme to the popular dolls.
Each doll comes with interchangeable fairy wings that can also be swapped with their adorable pet companions. Along with stylish outfits, brushable hair and colourful, clear legs, they bring plenty of imaginative play opportunities.
Children can collect all six characters — Astrid, Apple, Emerald, Sapphire, Amethyst and Opal — to create their own fairy world.
