With National Fertility Awareness Week starting today, our fertility guru Zita West will be answering your questions on fertility at Crussh Juice Bar, at locations all over London.
She’ll be offering these mini clinics free to everyone, giving men and women around London a chance to ask their important questions.
The mini-clinics will cover all aspects of fertility: including the role of nutrition in pre-conception and conception, fertility MOTs and IVF information, as well as preparation for IVF. Zita says, “My aim is to bring fertility awareness to the high street through consultations in Crussh stores, in an environment where women and men can have their questions answered by me and my team of experts.”
As a practicing midwife and fertility expert of 34 years, Zita West has helped thousands of women realise their dream of holding a baby in their arms. Combined with training in nutrition and acupuncture, Zita has developed an holistic and integrated approach to fertility. She and the team of Doctors at her clinic help clients for natural conception and IVF by improving nutrition, health, lifestyle, the mind and body connection, and relationships, and by using therapies such as acupuncture, hypnotherapy and counselling.
Her book “Eat Yourself Pregnant” outlines the ways in which food can make a difference. She says, “Nutrition isn’t enough on its own for someone struggling to get pregnant; however it can undoubtedly increase your chances. It is the bedrock to getting pregnant for both men and women.”
In honour of National Fertility week, Crussh will be designing a Zita West ‘fertility juice’, the Deep Cleanse Green Juice, which is inspired by a recipe in her new book. 50 pence from the sale of everyDeep Cleanse Green Juice will go to the Infertility Network, the UK’s leading infertility support network, which offers support, advice, information and a counselling helpline for women struggling with fertility issues. National Fertility Awareness Week has been organised to help increase understanding of fertility problems, which affect one in six couples in the UK. Susan Seenan, Chief Executive of Infertility Network UK, says, “Almost everyone will know someone who has experienced difficulties conceiving, which hopefully will encourage people to support the week.”
Crussh MD, Christopher Fung says, “With busier and more hectic lifestyles, many of us find ourselves starting families later in life. Nutrition is vital to ensure that our bodies are as well prepared as possible when the time is right. Central to so much of Zita’s holistic philosophy is the need to eat simply and healthily. At Crussh we share this philosophy and we look forward to sharing Zita’s unique perspective in our stores.”
In addition to all the above, Zita will address the latest Fertility Facts and Figures which show that there is indeed reason to be hopeful about Fertility.
- 84% of couples will conceive naturally within one year if they have regular unprotected sex.
- 92% will conceive within two years and 93% within three years if they have regular unprotected sex.
- Fat can be good! The Harvard Nurses Health Study showed that women who drank skimmed milk experienced less fertility than women who drank whole milk.
- Egg freezing is booming. In 2012 19.4% of cycle treatments used frozen eggs, and at December 2012 around 18,000 eggs had been stored in the UK for patients’ own use.
- Between 2011 and 2012 the pregnancy rates following frozen embryo transfer rose in all age groups.
