This is a nice and simple activity with a Christmas theme to keep their maths skills ticking over during the holidays.

You will need:

  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Candy Cane cookie cutter – optional

I drew around a candy cane cookie cutter and wrote a number next to it. YC then had to draw on the correct number of lines needed for each candy cane.

YC found this pretty simple to do, but it is helpful for her to keep these sorts of activities going during the school holidays.

This activity may help development of:

  • Number recognition
  • Fine Motor Skills – holding a pen
  • Counting skills
