The Best Christmas Grottos In London & Beyond In 2019

We’ve been following Father Christmas’s movements very closely to plot exactly when and where he’ll be appearing with his entourage of reindeer and elves at grottos in and outside of London this year. The officials at the North Pole have given us this insider information, so you can get booking your Christmas grotto experience asap!

Christmas at Kew Gardens

With over one million twinkling lights of every colour imaginable, Kew Garden’s Christmas tour is truly magical.

This will be it’s seventh year and they’re taking a magical new route, which will include a host of all-new installations. Laser projections will illuminate the iconic Temperate House this year and you can also walk through the dazzling arch which leads to a cascade of glowing shards at the Treetop Walkway.

There’ll also be some familiar favourites including the stunning tunnel of light and the singing Holly bushes. Complete your trip with the Palm House Pond finale where jumping jets of light dance across the water to Christmas classics.

There will also be a Victorian carousel and other family rides. Don’t forget to look out for Father Christmas and his elves along the way.

Santa’s Sleepover, Legoland Windsor

Have a sleepover at Legoland with a special twist this Christmas. Enjoy some festive fun including an elves’ magic show and a personal Father Christmas meet and greet in his grotto.

While you’re there little helpers will be needed to build LEGO gifts that they’ll be able to take home. You can also enjoy access to Legoland at Christmas, with limited rides and shows, splash and play in the indoor water play area and swimming pool and enjoy festive evening entertainment for the whole family.

Santa’s Sleepover is sure to be a true treat for all the family.

Christmas in Leicester Square

Take a festive trip through Leicester Square’s magical Christmas markets and find Father Christmas’s grotto where your children can meet the man himself plus enjoy a whole host of fantastic shows in the beautiful surrounds of a tradtional 1920s spiegeltent.

Winter Wonderland Hyde Park

Travel around the magical land of Father Christmas on the Santa Express and take a trip through his workshop where you’ll meet the elves.

Located in the heart of London, Winter Wonderland is the place to visit this Christmas season, as Hyde Park transforms into a world of unforgettable festive magic.

Santa’s Grotto Chessington Garden Centre

Start your journey in the craft workshop before taking a walk through the magical Christmas scenes on your way to meet Santa.  You will then have the chance to pick your perfect present inside the Toy Factory fresh off the production line.

WWT London Wetland Centre

You will be sure to make some magical memories visiting Santa is his cosy grotto. Children will be able to meet Father Christmas and will also have the opportunity for a photo with the big man himself. Tickets to visit Santa’s grotto will go on sale on the 1st November (online booking only).
