Crayon Resistant Spider Web Art

This week EC came home from school and wanted to do some painting. While he was busy doing his own thing and YC was painting planets, BB and I made some crayon resistant spider web art.

Make sure you follow my halloween board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.

For crayon resistant spider web art you will need:

  • White crayons
  • Paper
  • Block paints/ powdered paint
  • Paint brush

On the paper draw your spider web using the crayon. The harder you press the better is will be.

Then paint over your design with the paint. You need a watery paint for this to work. Poster and acrylic paints are too think to work.

I found that if the if the web didn’t completely show through after you have finished painting it, wait for it to dry slightly, then go over the design again with the crayon.

BB had fun painting his picture. He covered it with so much paint that the paper disintegrated when I tried to pick it up off the table! Oh well he at least was engaged in the activity. EC also came and had a go after he had finished his original painting.
