Pre Dinner Drinks:
Fancy something a little weird and wacky? Head to the Purl London Speakeasy down Blandford Street. They don’t just serve up drinks, they serve up multi-sensory, fogging, foaming and liquid nitrogen-ing experiences, to transport their guests into another space and time! Listen to soft swing and jazz whilst sipping on quirky concoctions- and don’t forget the password, it’s “Hair of the Dog”.
Where to eat:
If you’re looking for an explosion of Greek flavours this is the place for you! Just off the main highstreet, Opso is simplistic, cool, chic and stylish with a decor that feels very Scandinavian, but don’t let that fool you their food is a fusion of the best of Greek flavours. Instead of large platters they offer tapas size dishes, I’d recommend 5-6 between two. Their menu cleverly merges the traditional with bold modern quirks, and it works perfectly! My favourite dishes had to be the Kleftiko-Papillote style cooked lamb with roast potatoes, peppers and feta- and the Pastitsio ‘Noodle Box’- Greek traditional hylopites pasta with 12 hours slow cooked pulled beef cheek, tomato & béchamel sauce. They also have a great selection of Greek wines, whether you like sweet or dry and crisp to accompany your meal.
