One of my favourite weekends of the year is just around the corner and that’s the one that hosts the Daylesford Summer Festival. It’s on 21st May this year, and will run between 10am and 5pm. The annual event celebrates life, produce and artisans. It’s a free event, promising something for everyone. For all the foodies there’s a market garden vegetable paella, cheese making demonstrations, and loads of tastings. My husband always goes mad for the delicious Gloucester beef burgers, and we all finish off with a delicious ice cream, because fingers crossed, it’s normally sunny!

There are many events from market garden tours, ploughing demonstrations, talks on composting and bees, and even showcases from their Blacksmith and Farrier. The brilliant Agricology and the Soil Association are going to be there discussing all things farming.

As always, there’s lots of fun for the children from farm tours, face painting, chocolate lollipop decorating to bush craft, JCB rides, and our all-time favourite dog show. There will also be plenty of Pilates and Yoga going on in the Bamford barn, and I can’t wait to hang out at the Summerville and Bishop pop-up shop, which will be overflowing with deliciousness.

To watch a short film of the last few summer festivals, check out Daylesford.
