The father and daughter behind the excellent pregnancy website The Doctor and Daughter’s Guide to Pregnancy have launched their own antenatal classes in south west London.  As the name suggests, they make the ideal team – Roger Marwood is one of London’s leading Obstetricians who has supervised over 20,000 pregnancies, and his daughter, Rebecca Maberly is the mother of 2 little boys.

Roger and Rebecca set up their website 2 years ago in response to the lack of clear and safe advice on the internet and since then they have been asked repeatedly for recommendations of alternative antenatal courses to the NCT.  So now they have launched their own. They will be bringing their up-to-date and evidence-based classes to the pregnant ladies of Balham, Tooting and Clapham (husbands/partners are welcome too!).

The new course is a competitively priced alternative to the NCT and is designed to prepare you for the birth of your baby and also life as a new mother.

Subjects they’ll cover include:

  • Looking after yourself
  • Dealing with worries, aches and pains
  • Labour and Pain relief
  • Home birth- hospital birth
  • Hypnobirthing
  • What to buy and What not to buy
  • Life with a new baby- from bathing to burping
  • Feeding your baby by breast or bottle

And best of all, access to a top Obstetrician who has seen it all! All the classes are designed to educate and support you whilst giving you confidence at the most exciting but nerve wracking time of your life.

Places are limited and there are special offers available for the February Class!

Doctor and Daughter
Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Roger Marwood is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. He has 40 years experience working in busy NHS and Private hospitals and has personally supervised around 20,000 pregnancies. Rebecca Maberly is his eldest daughter who gave birth to her first child last year and is currently pregnant with her second. Together they have founded The Doctor and Daughter's Guide to Pregnancy which is a must-visit for prospective parents seeking a definitive source of realistic information, free from unqualified input from forums and comments. It enables mothers-to-be make informed decisions throughout their pregnancy, such as whether or not they should be drinking alcohol, running a marathon or eating smoked salmon. Their approach is no-nonsense and practical. The advice is medical and evidence-based, straight from Roger but with an informal slant provided by Rebecca. “There is so much conflicting information out there for the new mum-to-be, it can be very frustrating. We want to provide realistic, honest advice to busy modern women who want the best for their babies.”
