Meet The NEW Doona X: 100% Stroller, 100% Car Seat

Simplifying everyday travel as a parent makes a significant difference in how smoothly the day goes. The Doona X Car Seat & Stroller is designed to do exactly that.

After testing it in real life, it quickly became clear why the Doona X is one of the most talked-about baby travel products on the market. From school runs and quick errands to café stops and short walks, it proved genuinely useful in daily routines.

Straight out of the box, the Doona X feels solid and well made. The materials feel soft and comfortable where your baby needs support, while remaining sturdy and robust in all the right places. The overall design is sleek and modern, avoiding the bulky or overly “babyish” look seen in many travel systems.

Design and Colour Options

We tested the Nitro Black colourway, which looks smart, understated and practical. It blends easily into everyday life, works well across different settings, and doesn’t show marks too easily, a real bonus for busy parents.

The wider colour range feels equally well considered. Options such as Dusty Sage, Ocean Blue, Slate Green and Terracotta offer timeless, neutral tones rather than trend-led finishes. Across the range, the fabrics feel durable, easy to care for and thoughtfully finished, helping the Doona X maintain a premium look and feel.

From Car Seat to Stroller in Seconds

The defining feature of the Doona X is its ability to transform from car seat to stroller in seconds. In everyday use, this feature really delivers.

With the press of a button, the wheels drop down smoothly and lock securely into place. There’s no separate frame, no adapters, and no heavy lifting. This makes getting in and out of the car with a sleeping baby far less stressful. It also removes the need to carry a full-size pram in the boot, especially now that the Doona X includes a lay-flat option.

Everyday Performance

The Doona X performs best in urban environments. Its compact size makes it easy to manoeuvre through narrow shop aisles, cafés and busy pavements without feeling cumbersome. It pushes smoothly and feels stable on pavements and indoor flooring.

Multiple recline positions allow babies to sit upright or relax comfortably, while the canopy offers good sun protection. Breathable fabrics and removable, washable covers add to its everyday practicality.

In the Car

In the car, the Doona X feels secure and well thought through. Seat belt installation is straightforward once familiar, and pairing it with the ISOFIX base makes daily use quicker and more reassuring.

The seat is well padded and supportive. Harness and headrest adjustments feel intuitive, making it easy to adapt as your baby grows within the product’s intended range.

What to Consider

The Doona X is designed around convenience, so it doesn’t replace a full-size pram for long walks or all-day outings. Storage space is minimal, although a Pack & Go storage basket is available as an optional extra.

It’s also a shorter-term solution rather than a stroller designed to last for years, as babies will eventually outgrow it. However, during the stage when it’s used most, it excels at exactly what it promises.

The Doona X makes everyday travel simpler. It reduces the amount of equipment parents need, smooths transitions between car and stroller, and removes much of the stress from short trips.

While it sits at a premium price point, the level of daily convenience makes it a worthwhile investment for parents who value efficiency, smart design and ease of use. It’s particularly well-suited to city living and families who travel frequently.
