Hamley’s Toy Parade!

Join Hamley’s for their annual toy parade on Regent Street. This magical experience will give families a chance to see their favourite toy characters in the world’s largest Toy Parade. With Basil Brush taking the stage as special guest host and an iconic giant Marshmallow Man set to steal the show, a cast of hundreds are set to parade along Regent Street, including marching bands, dancers and toy vehicles.

Pageants, Pomp and Pyrotechnics in the City

London gets itself a new Lord Mayor (its 801st, no less) on Saturday, and marks the occasion with one of the most colourful and exuberant parades on the city’s calendar. Kicking off at 9am, the river pageant fills the Thames with a flotilla of barges, including the royal Gloriana, and the road procession that follows at 11am sees a cast of thousands follow the new Lord Mayor from Mansion House to Westminster, travelling in everything from penny farthings to tanks. There are guided walks available in the afternoon, and a grand firework finale at 5.15pm.

Pizza and Pies in Shepherd’s Bush

Set the kids to work in the kitchen this Christmas, with the help of a mince-pie masterclass from the dough-twirling chefs of Jamie’s Italian. They’ll learn to make shortcrust pastry and mincemeat filling from scratch, and return home with a tray-full of tinsel-time treats. Still too early for Christmas? There’s a pizza-making session in the afternoon, and many more up-coming workshops to pre-book.

Festive favourite head’s up: Party Season At The London Edition

From the 23rd November until New Year’s Eve, The London Edition’s basement venue will be transformed into a fantastical après ski lodge. This cosy wood-panelled chalet, complete with snug throws, lanterns and antler heads, is a unique venue for parties and events accommodating up to 100 guests in the heart of central London. Guests will sip on a selection of punches from The London EDITION’s award winning bar, and be supplied with sharing boards of cheese, charcuterie and crudities will be served alongside sumptuous bowls of risotto and warming pie from The Berners Tavern kitchen. If you’re looking for a place to host this festive season The London Edition is the perfect venue.

Get out of town: Basingstoke Christmas Lights Switch On 

Kicking off the festive activities in Basingstoke will be the Festival Place Christmas Light Switch On featuring stars from the annual Anvil Arts pantomime including Sue Holderness and an array of family entertainment. The evening will culminate in a firework display. Activities from 4pm-6pm.
