Ask anyone I know and they can pretty much predict what I will wear each day of the week – hint, it’s something that is three sizes too big for me. If you were to peer into my wardrobe, you’d find at least 12 baggy jumpers, nine oversized t shirts and a plethora of huge coats. I just love oversized fashion. It looks effortless; it is easy to pair with most things and most importantly, it’s down right comfortable!

Luckily for me (and you), oversized garments made a bold appearance at this week’s London Fashion Week, particularly amongst the trend setters and stylistas that walk the streets outside venues waiting to be papped.

With this in mind, I thought I’d pull a list of my favourite oversized garments currently on the market and explain how to best pull them off! I hope you’re ready, because my purse isn’t…

Red Cable Sweater, Next

I absolutely love the styling Next have used for this jumper. If you’re bold enough, pair this beautiful red turtleneck with some black leather trousers and some biker boots.

Oversized appliquéd printed cotton-terry sweatshirt, Gucci

Definitely one to save up for. The key to wearing oversized tops/jumpers is to ensure that whatever you wear on the bottom is relatively tight yet flattering. You don’t want to look like you’re wearing hand-me-downs! It needs to look intentional. Buy this Gucci sweatshirt a couple of sizes too big and wear it as a dress with black tights and some shiny brogues.

Mexi Oversized New Wool Trousers, Isabel Marant

These chunky flare-like trousers are for all you boss mamas out there! Nothing screams confidence like a pair of flared, oversized work trousers. Wear these with a tighter fitting shirt to add emphasis to your lower half.

Oversized Shirt Dress Khaki, Missguided.com

I have something very similar to this and I absolutely love it. We would advise wearing this as a shirt rather than a dress and team it with some dark navy blue skinny jeans and some shiny silver pumps.

Oversized Faux Fut Coat, Karen Millen

We would never endorse wearing real fur coats here at My Baba, but we are all about faux fur. This oversized faux fur coat from Karen Millen is the perfect winter accessory to keep you warm this winter. Pair this oversized fluffy number with a LBD and you’re all set for a night out on the town. Better still? You’ll be super comfy.

3-stripe Hem T-shirt by Adidas, Topshop

This incredibly comfortable t-shirt is definitely an item that I have already but in my shopping basket. Personally, I’d wear this with a pair of thick black leggings for ultimate comfort, but a pair of skinny white jeans would dress this outfit up a little.

Oversized Typo Modal Scarf, Jigsaw

Oversized accessories can complete an outfit, and this beautifully large scarf is no different. Pair chunky accessories with tighter fitting clothes so you don’t look too lost in your clothing!

Mani Oversized Contrast Knit Hoodie by Unique, Topshop

Definitely for the bolder mamas out there; this oversized knit hoodie is very ‘Kanye’ and by the looks of it, very warm! We would advise wearing this as a dress with some sheer black tights to avoid looking too clumpy.
