Celebrity hairdresser Paul Edmond’s has tended the locks of everyone from Emma Thompson to Christina Hendricks in his Knightsbridge salon, but less well known is the fact that you can have a facial worthy of any A-lister in the very same place. So I was happy to find myself here after a particularly fraught day of juggling toddler and working life. With my phone switched to silent, I followed head facialist Saynab into the peaceful hidden oasis of beauty indulgence that is the House at the back of the salon. It was so beautifully decked out, I knew I was in for a treat.

There are three facials to choose from using the Eminence range of organic products. The Peel Facial is for sun damaged, pigmented or mature skin, the Skin Brightening Facial helps improve hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tone and the collagen-boosting Age Corrective Facial which I chose. I’m only 32 but I feel that with all the sleepless nights and hectic days that come with having a baby, I’ve aged ten years, so naturally this option caught my eye.

Eminence products have a celebrity following that reads like a red carpet roll call, including Jessica Biel and the very swoonworthy Ryan Gosling so I was interested to see what was to come. My facial began with indulgent products like the Lemon Cleanser, Stone Crop Gel Wash, Coconut Ager Corrective Moisturiser and Mimosa Champagne Massage Oil being expertly massaged into my face. But this was no ordinary facial as it combined unique massaging and drainage techniques to specifically work with the organic ingredients that were being applied. It felt fantastic and the products smelt wonderful.

But what I loved most about this facial was that half of it involved the most divine massage of head, face, neck and shoulders and even hands and arms. I often find I enjoy a facial for the first fifteen minutes but I only have patience for so much applying and removing of various unctions. So to have the treatment combined with a seriously good massage felt like killing two birds with one stone and left me feeling completely pampered.

After the facial I enjoyed that thing where everybody said how well I looked and I could see it myself. For a good few weeks afterwards, my skin looked clear and line free, but more than anything, I just felt really really good. I’m booking another appointment as we speak.
