Stacey Solomon has joined forces with chef Nisha Katona in a bid to encourage mums to get cooking with keema. Their aim is to bring you quick and easy meals that all the family will love. Stacey says “Cooking something different that you know the kids will love is a massive challenge. I’m first to admit that I have a lot to learn when it comes to cooking and I’ve loved working with Nisha to learn all about keema. I’ve started cooking-up a batch on a Sunday and using it during the week on jacket potatoes and pasta. My kids love all the different options so I’m able to provide something different each week and there’s nothing to it!”

Chef Nisha Katona says “People often overlook lamb mince. It’s such a shame because it is so versatile and goes perfectly with international flavours. I grew up eating keema, it is so delicious. Kids love it – it’s full of flavour and when packed with vegetables, it’s the perfect health by stealth dish. Quick and simple, it’s the perfect meal solution for busy mums. The video I’ve put together with Stacey shows you just how easy it is. Serves 4
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 12 minutes 


  • 450g//1lb prepared lamb keema – recipe here: Lamb-Keema-without-peas.pdf
  • 150ml/¼pint good, hot lamb or vegetable stock
  • 300g/10½oz pasta shapes
  • 60ml/4tbsp prepared caramelised red onions (we used a ready prepared one)
  • 30ml/2tbsp freshly chopped flat-leaf parsley or coriander leaves
  • 100g/4oz fresh rocket leaves


  • Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions, drain and set aside
  • Meanwhile, put the keema in a large non-stick pan with the stock and heat for 3-4 minutes until piping hot, breaking up the mixture with a wooden spoon
  • Add the cooked pasta, the caramelised red onions, the herbs and ¾ of the rocket leaves. Toss gently
  • Transfer to pasta bowls and garnish with the remaining rocket leaves and serve with a crisp salad


If you prefer, use wholewheat pasta instead.
