With the royal baby Prince George finally here, we thought there was no better time to consider hotels suitable for our own little bambinos.  Hotels are really catching onto this idea that happy babies and toddlers makes happy parents and offer a myriad of services and facilities to welcome you with buggy, baby and toddler in tow.  Here is just a selection of our favourite baby and toddler friendly hotels in the UK, Europe and that little bit further afield!

Four Seasons at Park Lane, London is a fabulous hotel for families and parents travelling with babies. The hotel  will place in your room all of the baby items you will need from nappies, nappy bin, baby bath, toddler steps, wet wipes, sudocrem……. you name it – it is in the baby basket to welcome you. There are also bath toys and games provided in the room to keep the little ones entertained. If your little one is just starting to crawl, then just ask the hotel before check in and they will baby proof the room adding soft corners to tables and caps on sockets. You can even get a complimentary ride to Hamleys in the hotel’s Rolls Royces! 

Four-SeasonsIn the New Forest, Chewton Glen, is a great place for a traditional family holiday. The hotel sits nestled amongst the beautiful scenery of the New Forest and just a short walk from the sea. Every weekend and during the school holidays the hotel has a club for the little ones which caters for any age of child as long as they are potty trained. This is complimentary for hotel guests in the morning and the afternoon, there is some supervised fun with painting and puzzles, train sets and story time, plus lots more activities to keep our youngest guests entertained whilst Mum and Dad have a chance to spend a little time in the spa, or just catching up. Welcome gifts, pint-sized bathrobes and small slippers ready and waiting in the room for little ones and there are DVDs, Play Stations, Junior Scrabble and many other family-fun board games available from reception. Children under the age of 5 years eat and drink for free during your stay at this family-friendly hotel.

This luxury, child-friendly hotel assumes that you as parents don’t want to compromise on quality just because you are travelling with children so provide a stylish home from home with comfortable yet elegant interiors all with a sunny, welcoming feel and spectacular views. An Ofsted registered crèche (The Den) is complimentary for children aged between three months and eight years. Child-led activities include face painting, messy play, cooking and crafts. There is an outside play area which includes a wooden climbing frame, swings and a slide. The hotel even has its very own cinema which shows classic family films on a daily basis. There is a “Snug” which is packed full of books, puzzles and pre-school toys the Snug is also a doggy friendly area so the whole family can relax together.


For some guaranteed summer sun, Daios Cove in Greece is geared up for families, with a child-friendly beach, pool games are arranged in the hotel’s children’s pool and babysitting services, baby products can be provided including baby phones, bottle warmers and sterilisers, a kettle, baby bath and baby changer, pushchair, toilet seat, potty, stool for the wash basin, stair gates and pool fence for those in a room with private pool. There is also a crèche (at an extra charge). If you really want to indulge then you can book a family villa with private pool. The residents of the villas will enjoy the exclusive Cove Club Service which includes (but is not limited to) a Villas’ section at the beach, farewell gift and children’s welcome gift, dedicated guest concierge, preferential bookings for the à la carte restaurants, the spa, activities and excursions.

Luxuriously nestled in the beautiful Sagres area of Portugal‘s unspoilt western Algarve coast, the luxury, baby-friendly Martinhal is a sanctuary for new parents. Stylish, contemporary architecture complement the organic personality of the resort, which has been shaped to blend effortlessly into the indigenous landscape. There is a crèche for babies from 6 months (at extra cost) and you can pre-book baby items from small items like door protectors, thermometers, potties, bottle sterilisers & warmers, to bigger items like safety gates, baby cots, baby baths and even pushchairs so you don’t have to pack it all. Parents can also take their baby along to the spa to watch and learn adequate baby massage techniques which they can apply at home.


For something super stylish Borgo Egnazia, Italy – the hotel of choice for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel to have their wedding, is a stunning luxury child-friendly hotel perfect for luxury family holidays in Italy. Borgo Egnazia’s children’s club, Trullalleri kids club, looks after the children from eight months. It is supervised by professional staff and children are grouped by age to assure that both indoor and outdoor activities are organized according to every age group. In the children’s club there is a large playroom, a nursery, a relaxation area with low key activities, reading areas and a dedicated zero-entry swimming pool area. There are activities for children from making jewellery and ceramics to tending their very own “mini” vegetable garden, going to the zoo or to the beach.

For something a little bit more exotic head to Morocco, stay at the Mazaghan Beach Resort, nominated for Best Hotel Spa in Africa, the Middle East & Indian Ocean by Conde Nast Spa Reader’s Awards in 2011. This is a luxury, baby-friendly hotel with lots for the whole family to do. There is a dedicated complimentary kids clubs for babies from 3 months old and the hotel offers a baby-sitting service from 6pm til the early hours. One big plus for a stay at at the Mazaghan Beach Resort is that during BST there is no time difference so new parents don’t need to worry about disturbing their babies routine. The flight time is also a relatively short 3 hours so for those parents seeking a more exotic location this is a perfect choice.

Finally for complete chilled out luxury Four Seasons Kuda Hurra, Maldives is an enchanting garden island where the whole family are welcomed like family. There is a children’s club from four but younger children are welcome with an adult. Children’s toiletries including nappies, baby wipes, bottle warmers and sterilizer, shampoo and bathing amenities can all be provided on a complimentary basis for babies and there are children’s menus in the restaurants and In-Room Dining. The infants’ menu (for children age three or under who have been introduced to solid food) is offered free of charge. There are even (provided you provide the hotel your children’s names) personalised and laminated infant menus and a take home baby bib. Upon request your room can be childproofed and you can have a cot with ocean-themed linen. If you are travelling with a baby just ask and a changing mat and pushchair can be placed in your room for your arrival.
