My eyes are on stilts and my mind is a hive of inspiration. After only being open for a couple of months, Maggie & Rose’s new Chiswick spot already feels like a well-oiled machine. With activities on every level, nothing has been missed off the mark. This place has been the dream of a real mother for real families, a haven in the middle of Chiswick and a paradise for locals.

The first thing to stop me in my tracks was the garden, which has a party bus in one corner and gardening in the other. Giant board games makes it feel like you’re on the set of Alice in Wonderland and an awesome looking treehouse keeps the slightly older children happy. Upstairs, not merely a cinema, with Aristocats playing, but a mind blowing soft play and various other play areas dominate the space with every toy imaginable.

If you’ve ever wanted something, but don’t have the space or the money, you name it, Maggie’s got it. A fabulous Bistro runs alongside where parents sit to keep an eye on what’s going on. The food has been really well thought out and I love how grown-ups and children eat the same, leaving no chance for food envy – the only difference being mini or maxi portions.

My daughter and I shared their amazing fish fingers with sweet potato wedges and green beans, halloumi skewers and a super food salad. To finish, we both had frozen yoghurt, topped with all sorts of treats. I could literally eat anything on this menu!

Even the loos were on the mark, with fine details like complimentary eco products and nappies and sweet little mobiles swinging from the rafters. The classrooms are pretty staggering, each being light and spacious. Maggie’s kitchen and cooking lessons have always been a talking point, and just as expected, this new kitchen is pretty phenomenal, even down to the brightly coloured SMEG fridge.

A nursery for busy mamas is a bustle of excitement and works around schedules so that you can choose between mornings, afternoons or full days. Last on the list was the roof terrace which isn’t far off being finished and looks as slick as any 5* hotel. This is where the fun really happens. It even has a built-in wood fired oven for pizzas. I can definitely see the papas hanging out here on a Summer’s day.

As we were leaving, we passed the shop when my two year old looked up at me and said “Father Cwistmas!” Need I say more…
