Is The Maxi-Cosi Nomad XL Plus The Ultimate Travel Car Seat For Toddler To Tween?

Travelling with children can be challenging, and finding a safe, lightweight, and practical car seat for on-the-go families has always been a struggle—until now. The Maxi-Cosi Nomad XL Plus is designed to make family travel easier than ever, combining portability, safety, and long-term usability in one sleek design. Perfect for holidays, road trips, and everyday journeys, this innovative i-Size car seat is a game-changer for parents who value convenience without compromising on safety.

Maxi-Cosi Nomad XL Plus: Lightweight, Foldable, Travel-Ready

Here’s what makes it different: the Nomad XL Plus is super lightweight at just 6kg, folds down neatly, and comes in its own travel bag. That means no more wrestling with a massive seat at check-in when you’re off on your hols. You can literally sling it over your shoulder and carry it like hand luggage.

Even better? Installation takes less than a minute. It works with both ISOFIX and a seat belt, so it’s perfect for taxis, Ubers, grandparents’ cars, and hire cars when you’re abroad. No base, no stress, no sweating in the car park while your toddler melts down in the back seat.

One Seat for Years – from Toddler to Tween

One of the things I love most about this seat is how long it lasts. The Nomad XL Plus is suitable from 15 months to 12 years old. That’s toddler tantrum territory right through to school runs and family holidays with big kids.

Back in my day (wow, I sound old), we had a different car seat for every stage – and when you’re travelling, that’s just more stuff to lug around. This single seat saves on so much hassle and expense.

Safety Without Compromise

Of course, safety is non-negotiable. The Nomad XL Plus is i-Size compliant, offers G-CELL side impact protection, and has multiple recline positions for comfort. And as a nice bonus, the fabrics are made from 100% recycled materials, something more and more of us care about these days.

Why Modern Families Need It

Today’s families are more mobile than ever. We travel, we road trip, we take city breaks, we visit grandparents across the country. The Maxi-Cosi Nomad XL Plus takes away one of the biggest stress points – keeping your child safe on the go – without sacrificing convenience.

Nala's Dream by Taylan Kurtul

Nala’s Dream is a magical children’s story with an incredibly poignant story behind it. It was first imagined by five-year-old Taylan Kurtul, who dreamed up an adventure in which his real-life kitten, Nala, travels into space. Taylan sadly died in February 2024, just eight months after being diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour. His mum lovingly brought the story he created to life as a book in his memory, celebrating Taylan’s wonderful imagination while raising vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. A beautiful legacy filled with adventure, love and a little boy’s magic.
