Book Of The Week

What is Puppy Going to Do? Carly Madden

Little pups go on big adventures! Look at what each puppy is holding or playing with and see if you can guess what they are about to do! Open the flap on each spread to discover the answer in a delightful, colourful scene.

With sturdy flaps to aid hand-eye coordination and a question on each page to prompt conversation between parent and child, this bright, engaging board book is the perfect exploration of the activities that make up a baby or toddler’s day.

What is Puppy Going to Do? is the latest title from the Flap Flap series, bright and fun books with interactive flaps which are perfect for reading together with young children.

PARP! Mike Henson

PARP! What’s that smell? In this interactive board book, a group of animals enters a lift – at each floor, one of the animals breaks wind, producing a really stinky whiff! But who did it?

As each animal exits the lift, it slowly becomes clearer who the ‘parper’ is… and it’s not who you expect!

This sturdy board book includes pull-out sliders, which reveal extra story details – whether it’s the giraffe’s incredibly long neck or the mystery stinky culprit! Bright, playful illustrations, and lovable animal characters will make Parp! a firm family favourite.

This robust board book and its fun sliders will withstand hours of hilarious fun.

An ABC of Democracy, Nancy Shapiro

A is for All, B is for Branch, C is for Common Good. An ABC of Democracy introduces complicated concepts surrounding politics and government to the youngest of children.

Everyone has the right to be treated fairly, no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. From A to Z, simple explanations accompanied by engaging artwork teach children about the world we live in and how to navigate our way through it.

Each right-hand page includes a brightly decorated letter with the word it stands for and an encouraging slogan. On the left, a colourful illustration and bite-size text sum up the concept. Cheerful people from a range of backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities lead the way through the alphabet.

Toys Of The Week

World Book Day with Baby Born

World Book Day presents an unbeatable opportunity for learning and development, even for tiny tots.

Learning to love literature will, of course, stand youngsters in good stead for their school days and beyond, but the benefits of dress up and roleplay are also huge. By dressing up as their favourite characters, little ones can grow their imaginations and help to build empathy and understanding of others.

And what better way to tempt tiny tots to join the fun than by playing dress-up with their best pal BABY born?!

On the My Baba wish list…

Headphones, Tonies®
