Tucked away in the Cotswolds is a small zoo, not just your average normal zoo, but one that is home to only reptiles. Crocodiles of the World is, in fact, the only crocodile zoo in the UK; home to more than 100 crocodiles, alligators and caimans.  Now that it has moved into bigger premises they are open 7 days a week, 10am – 5pm all year.

This is the perfect place for a mini adventure, they have feeding times and talks throughout the day where you can touch a juvenile. If you are really brave you can have your picture taken while holding one of the young ones (the one we got to hold was only 7 months old), if your child is under 5 they are only allowed to hold onto the tail while the keeper holds onto the head.

My charges loved visiting Crocodiles of the World and talked for days about how brave they had been holding a crocodile.  If you’re in the area and are looking for something different, this certainly ticks all the boxes.
