The other day I worked out that I have been going to festivals with my kids for 21 years! That’s a lifetime! So you’d think I would now be quite an expert at it! Well, the truth is, I’m not, I always forget something vital like sun cream or wellies! I remember one rainy year at Reading festival, I took a pram with a broken wheel with me and trying to manoeuvre it through the mud was an interesting experience…
For those who know me well, know that I’m not a fan of camping. I like my creature comforts too much. In my experience camping is far too cold, far too loud or far too uncomfortable! My family and I are lucky enough to live 15 mins from Glastonbury Festival. So every year, I have the luxury of driving up to the Park field where all my friends are, hanging out with them and watching the bands until dark. Then I drive home and stay in a warm, cosy bed and drive back in the morning feeling very refreshed. Some say that I don’t embrace the Glastonbury experience, but I have to disagree. I think I get the best of both worlds. Anyway, it works for me.
I have many tips on how I get our family together. Usually the week before, we go to our local Halfords and buy tents for our two teenage boys. I also buy them sleeping bags, wellies and waterproofs and extra phone chargers too. They will usually lose their sunglasses, so we’ll get them an extra pair each. I’ll pack sun protection and lots of spare clothes. My daughters Betty and Daisy have already asked if they can wear the Butterfly outfits from my new Petite Pearl Lowe range for Glastonbury this year! So I’m obviously hoping more than ever that the weather will be nice for them.
Here’s a list of Pearl’s Festival Must-haves:
