Encourage Your Children to Read with This Brilliant Online Service Christina Walter 20 December, 2017 Education, Living, Product Reviews In a world full of nifty gadgets, apps and ten trillion TV channels in comparison to the four we grew up with, it can be hard to motivate your child to read. We came across new initiative Reading Chest and they’re on a mission to inspire children to read with their book rental service specialising in reading schemes for children from 4- 9 years. What’s great about it, is they stock the same reading schemes as UK schools, so you know your little one is on track. George and I signed up to road-test the subscription service which operates online and it’s super-simple. All you have to do is select the package you want to sign up for, bronze, silver or gold; the better the package the more books you can swap. Enter your preferences as to your child’s reading level or their particular reading scheme and wait for your books to arrive to your door by Royal Mail. When you’re finished, all you have to do is pop them in the pre-paid envelope, post them back, and wait for more to arrive. We’re already on our second delivery, they arrive really quickly. I love that there’s a reward chart with stickers to further incentivise your child to read, and certificates you can personalise and give to your child when they move up a reading band, or after reading 20 books. George gets a book from school each day but I think it’s great to have the same sort of books to read over the weekends and holidays.
