A Safe School is a school that stays open in times of crisis, conflict or natural disaster for key worker kids and vulnerable children. Safe schools provide a reliable and secure environment for learning and play. It’s no exaggeration to say that a safe school can save children’s lives in the short term, and help them to continue to develop in the long term.
Action Hands is a community campaign set up to support young children and families adjust to the realities of Covid19 with well-being activities and music.
Founder of London Nursery Schools (LNS) Sara Brennan together with children’s educator Amanda Frolich have created this awesome downloadable Wash Your Hands song and story, and are busy fundraising to raise money for authorised safe schools to stay open during this difficult time to enable key workers and support vulnerable children.
Like many safe schools across the country, the London Nursery Schools (LNS) has been forced to temporarily close after being authorised a safe school for key worker and vulnerable children at this time of crisis. This is due to the lack of funding by the UK Government which covers just 15 hours a week per child at an hourly rate of £6.50 for children aged between three and four.
Right now, there is NO financial support from the UK Government for nursery schools to stay open and manage the challenges of a safe school at this time such as food, resources, staffing, rent and rates.
Please follow the JustGiving link below to make a donation to support safe schools at this time to enable key workers and protect vulnerable children. With the money raised LNS will be able to continue to develop the Action Hands campaign, which means FREE resources to support family wellbeing at home and in their safe school for kids aged between one and eight years old.
We are ALL in this together, so let’s support our key workers and our vulnerable children by making a donation and passing the message on to family and friends.
