Ice Skating in London

Why not plan a winter wonderland of a family day ice skating in one of London’s magical ice rinks. Perfect New Year’s Eve fun for all the family.

London’s Best Museum Exhibitions

Before the real NYE celebrations begin, spend the day wandering one of the capital’s best exhibitions. See the life and work of design maestro Mr Paul Smith at the Design Museum, discover the racy Japanese prints at the Birtish Museum or marvel at the capital’s lost gems and jewels at the Museum of London.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

What better way to spend New Year’s Eve than at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland! This festive fair is open until January 5th. There’s something for all the family, from mulled wine, craft beer to candy canes and fairy light-lit funfair rides.

Kew Gardens

There’s so much family fun to be had at Kew Gardens this festive season. The Illuminated Trail transforms the gardens, with a series of lighting installations created by artists from around the UK. A truly magical place to spend with the kids on New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve 2013 Firework Display

For those with older children, London’s official New Year’s Eve fireworks at the London Eye are definitely where it’s at! Be sure to plan again – designated spots typically fill up around 9pm, sometimes earlier. Prime vantage points include the Victoria Embankment, north of the Thames, and some of the central-most bridges (Waterloo, Westminster and the eastern Jubilee footbridge; the Millennium Bride has only a partial view of the Eye).
