Illustrator Chris Haughton will be creating his super-code owls as paper cut-outs. outside, kids can help a team of illustrators including Marion Deuchars draw sea creatures along the entire length of the River Terrace. VENUE: Somerset House, Strand, London WC2 PERFECT FOR: All ages Drawing the Line on Wimbledon Common Saturday An exciting Big Draw event taking place in and around the Windmill Museum on Wimbledon Common alongside the BookFest (see below). Artists will be on hand to assist and inspire drawing to theme and of course the Common is wonderful to explore – even the dog can come along. VENUE: Wimbedon Common, Windmill Road, London SW19 PERFECT FOR: All ages Scandinavia Show at Earls Court Saturday & Sunday For lovers of Nordic design this is a terrific exhibition covering everything from Northern Lights to liquorice. Exhibitors range from interiors to fashion, travel, and of course food. Kids can participate in Scandi fashion shows, get cosy with Siberian huskies and there is a rumour a red-suited visitor from Lapland may stop by. Shhh. VENUE: The Scandinavia Show, Earls Court, Warwick Road, London SW5 PERFECT FOR: All ages Sunday Spot at SLG Sunday A day of imagination with time travel and magic carpet rides at South London Gallery. Inspired by the current Rashid Johnson exhibition with lots of large-scale and visually stimulating works kids will enjoy examining. The in-house cafe is also very good if a coffee is required. VENUE: South London Gallery, Peckham Road, London SE5 PERFECT FOR: Age 3 – 12 Big Draw at Cutty Sark Saturday & Sunday Cutty Sark is celebrating the Big Draw all weekend with creative workshops designing reflections of the grand clipper. Kids can also chit chat with Captain Woodget and ask any pressing questions about the ship. Travel by boat for double fun.
