Enter Start-Rite’s Walk To School Week Competition NOW!

Did you know that May is national walking month and this week, the 16^th-20^th May is Walk to School Week?! Sadly, according to the National Travel Survey, the number of children walking to school is declining, so we have teamed up with Start-Rite Shoes to help inspire more families to give it a go.

We understand that many children are unable to walk to school, perhaps due to distance or the safety of the roads around the school. If this is your situation, can you park up a little further from the school gate than usual and walk the last few minutes? We are sure you will feel great for doing it!

Nala's Dream by Taylan Kurtul

Nala’s Dream is a magical children’s story with an incredibly poignant story behind it. It was first imagined by five-year-old Taylan Kurtul, who dreamed up an adventure in which his real-life kitten, Nala, travels into space. Taylan sadly died in February 2024, just eight months after being diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour. His mum lovingly brought the story he created to life as a book in his memory, celebrating Taylan’s wonderful imagination while raising vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. A beautiful legacy filled with adventure, love and a little boy’s magic.
