Fun Fiesta in Notting Hill

Gorgeous shop Couverture & The Garbstore requires no further incentive to visit as its threads for women, men and children, and gorgeous homewares are cause enough. But on Sunday, its three floors of indie design are given over to a children’s fiesta. Celebrating all things Mexican, there’ll be ice lollies by the Paleta girls and storytelling by Vanessa Woolf, cute Meri Meri tattoos and a Mexican mask masterclass and, of course, Piñata. In the words of Speedy, ‘arriba arriba, andale andale’ 🌵

VENUE: Couverture, Kensington Park Road, Notting Hill, London W11
WHEN: Sunday
PERFECT FOR: Ages 3+

Punch & Judy in Covent Garden

Expect a lot of ‘That’s the way to do it!’ in the charming St Paul’s Churchyard, home to the Covent Garden May Fayre this weekend. This celebration of all things Punch & Judy takes place in the very spot Samuel Pepys records the first British sighting of Mr Punch. As well as puppet workshops and shows galore, there’ll be a brass-accompanied grand procession, and a church service preached by Pulcinella himself.

VENUE: St Paul’s Churchyard, Bedford Street, Covent Garden, London WC2
WHEN: Sunday
PERFECT FOR: All ages

My Baba’s Restaurant of The Week

Honest Burgers

I took the kids to Honest Burgers last week and it was easily the best burger I’ve ever had. The lovely staff gave the children a kids’ menu which had a couple of games on, being word search and dot to dot, but you don’t need much to keep them entertained as the food arrived pretty quickly. The kids’ menu has all the same ingredients as the adults’, but just served in children’s portions being half the size and half the price! We all went for the normal beef burger with red onion relish and lettuce with a big portion of rosemary salted chips and plenty of bacon and ketchup. They also have gluten free buns for those with an intolerance. I didn’t have a pudding, but the minty lemonade was delicious. Ps – the coleslaw was also a killer!
