Is This The Safest Booster Seat For My Child?

We take a look at one of latest Group 2/3 car seats, the BeSafe iZi Flex FIX i-Size, a high back booster seat for children aged approximately 4 – 12 years old.

The safest booster seat for my child

Evidence shows that high-backed Group 2/3 booster car seats offer a higher level of protection compared to backless boosters or booster cushions. Booster seats with a properly designed backrest offer crucial protection for your child’s head and body, especially in the event of a side impact car crash.

Choose i-Size

The BeSafe iZi Flex FIX booster is a forward-facing i-Size seat designed to cater for a child of a specific height, rather than weight. i-Size car seats are considered to be the safest, with improved head and neck protection.

Fully compliant with the latest UN R129 safety requirements, the plush looking Flex high back booster seat is intended for children from 100-150 cm.

Superior safety

The iZi Flex FIX booster seat far exceeds safety regulations to keep your child safe in real-life situations, here’s why.

Lockdable and stowable ISOfix arms

The iZi Flex FIX i-Size has lockable ISOfix arms offering super-easy installation and peace of mind that the booster seat is always fitted correctly. There is the option to stow away the ISOfix arms and use the seat solely in conjunction with the car’s seatbelt, depending on your car/personal preference.

Shoulderbelt and lapbelt guiders

The seat’s lockable shoulderbelt and lapbelt guiders make positioning the seat belt a cinch.

The booster seat’s foldable lapbelt guider is made from soft materials and is used with a fid-lock magnet to make opening and closing simple. There are no belt horns, so there’s no risk of using the lapbelt incorrectly. The lapbelt guider is optional, and your older children will probably decide it’s unnecessary. We think it’s a brilliant chair to transition a toddler to a booster seat, as it offers that extra support when buckling up.

Side impact protection

Designed with three layers of side impact protection, the iZi Flex Fix i-Size benefits from BeSafe’s SIP+ (additional side impact protection). These come in the form of attachable bumpers, that slot simply into either side of the chair. SIP+ is said to act in the same way as a car’s crumple zone, by absorbing any additional force.

Comfort and space flexibility

This slick and grownup looking booster seat offers your child the perfect combination of safety and comfort. Its fabrics are made from 100% polyester and are machine washable for ease. We found they wipe clean very well too.

Adjustable seat that grows with your child

The seat’s headrest can be easily adjusted with your child in situ by simply altering the height adjustment handle located on the side of the seat. The Flex’s v-shaped headrest has been designed with comfort and safety in mind, for an improved view, as well as sleep support. At its highest, the headrest reaches 82cm.

PAD+

Kids can often feel ‘uncomfortable’ when buckled up using a vehicle’s seat belt, and they might resort to tucking the belt underneath their arm to avoid this. PAD+ is an extra cushion that you can attach to the top of the car’s seat belt to offer seat belt padding, as well as providing extra chin and chest protection to boot.

Reclining seat

Due to the upright nature of the seat, the seat offers only a slight recline, but nevertheless, perfect for avoiding the classic droopy head position during those inevitable naps on the go.

Space-saving seats

The booster seat’s slim design cleverly offers your child plenty of space. Detach the seat’s SIP bumpers and you can fit up to three people in the backseat. The lightweight seat weighing 4kg comes complete with an integrated carrying handle, making it easy to transfer from car to car.

Award-winning booster seat

Thanks to its smart features for comfort, safety and space flexibility, the iZi Flex FIX i-Size won the prestigious Kind + Jugend Innovation Award in the category World of Travelling Kids.

Rated “GOOD” in all tested categories by ADAC, the Flex is the only seat awarded an outstanding side impact score of 1,2, together with great results in ‘space for the child’, and ‘space usage in the car’.

The iZi Flex FIX i-Size combines excellent safety features, high standards of comfort and flexibility. It offers easy adjustment, quick installation, and space for up to three people in one row.
