  • Olive Oil
  • 2 x white onions
  • 1 cup of Basmati rice to 1/2 cup of orange lentils
  • 1 vegetable stock / one teaspoon vegetable
  • Half teaspoon Tumeric powder

Add oil to a large pan, medium heat.
Leave the orange lentils and Basmati rice to soak together in a bowl to take the starch out. Empty water and set aside.
Chop and add two white onions to the pan. Once the onions start to brown, add the tumeric and vegetable stock to the frying onions. Add a litre of water to the pan.
Add in the rice and lentils, and put the lid on the pan to cook on a high heat for 15 minutes.
Serve with spring onions, coriander, a salad, pickles, or whatever your heart desires!
