Sometimes a good night’s sleep just doesn’t cut it, and other times a good night’s sleep is impossible to come by. We’re all been afflicted by dark circles and eye bags at some point or another. That’s why it’s essential to have a beauty backup. Keep your eye area moisturised and cared for with one of our favourite creams and serums.
The one that ‘does what it says on the tin’: Dr Brandt Dark Circle Away Serum
Says what it does in the name — waves goodbye to dark circles. Dr Brandt’s serum is a collagen-based serum that reduces puffiness and gives the eye area an immediately brighter appearance. It really helps to stimulate microcirculation which helps keep the eye area hydrated and healthy. You only have to use a very small amount, so this product will last for ages.
The luxury one: Lancome Absolue Precious Cells Eye Serum
We can’t get enough of this Lancome eye serum. It feels like the ultimate luxury eye product as it glides over skin and leaves the eye area feeling smooth and luminous. The silky serum has anti-ageing properties too, so it reduces the appearance of wrinkles as well as increasing elasticity. Excellent.
The hydrating one: Bobbi Brown Hydrating Cream
It’s so easy for skin to become dry, dull and dehydrated, and when skin is in this state dark circles below the eyes do surface. Bobbi Brown’s serum replenishes the eye area with the hydration it’s crying out for. It absorbs pretty quickly too, which means you’ll have no trouble adding concealer or foundation on top of it.
The one for youthful skin: Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Eye Gel
Typically we associate Elizabeth Arden with products for mature skin, but this eye gel is made specially for those in their twenties and early thirties and helps to preserve skin and keep your eye area looking youthful. It reduces the appearance of tiredness and stress around the eyes, as well as keeping the eye area healthy and hydrated.
The one that’s also a primer: Clinique All About Eyes
We love a two-in-one product, but the good ones are often few and far between. This Clinique product is a strong duo-purpose favourite. This ‘all skin types’ eye cream reduces the appearance of dark circles, plumps skin and leaves the eye area feeling super moisturised. It also makes an excellent primer beneath your foundation and allows makeup to glide on and stay in place.
The rescue treatment one: Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream
This Antipodes eye cream is the ultimate rescue treatment for damaged tissue in the eye area. The cream, which is made up of a combination of carrot seed oil, avocado oil, and aloe gel should be applied twice a day to the delicate eye area. It leaves skin feeling super soft and is especially beneficial if you’re prone to dry and sensitive skin.
The relaxing night’s sleep one: Spacemasks
Okay, this isn’t one you can apply directly to your skin – but we all know the best way to remedy dark circles is to get a good night’s sleep. We tried out Spacemasks and they’re great and relaxing and soothing.
