8 Ways To Look Stylish During Pregnancy

Being pregnant is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times in your life, but for many, it throws our sense of style into utter chaos. Whilst some women will relish their ever-growing bosom, others will struggle to contain it (don’t mention the veins!). Then the waistline we work so hard to maintain suddenly disappears, only to be replaced by a thick, flabby sort of bloated shape, followed by the beer belly. It’s not all doom and gloom, though. On the plus side, your hair is the best it’s ever been. Luscious, thick, glossy locks, you can’t stop stroking. And your skin, well, it has a radiance that manages to disguise the daily exhaustion perfectly.

So, the big question on everyone’s lips is how do you make your bump work with your style?

How to stay stylish throughout your pregnancy

Build on your accessories

This is the time to let your accessories do the talking. Layer necklaces together and build up your arm adornment. Swathe yourself in a luxurious oversized printed scarf to finish off the look.

Find a good pair of maternity boyfriend jeans

They’re bang on-trend at the moment and work really well with the bump for a simple but stylish pregnancy. Wear with skater pumps or dress up with heels. Comfort is key, but you can still look chic in these.

A bomber, black tux or black leather biker jacket keeps your edge

A cool jacket will dress you up, no matter how big you become (just don’t try to fasten it!). Rouch the sleeves for an effortlessly cool look.

Look to trapeze shapes for a great silhouette

A trapeze top or dress will accentuate your top half whilst cleverly disguising the bump at the same time and will make your legs look super skinny. Perfect for those special occasions when you’ll want to look stylish during your pregnancy.

A pencil dress to show off your bump

Everyone loves a maxi dress when pregnant, but I lean towards the pencil dress that falls just below the knee. It not only shows off bump perfectly, it’s no fuss, chic dressing at its best. I love Isabella Oliver’s LBDs this season. Wear with a pair of heels or trainers and accessorise with a leather jacket.

Invest in a great pair of boots

Over-the-knee boots (no heel) worn with leggings or skinny denim look so cool and enables you to keep your top half really casual and easy, such as an oversized boyfriend shirt, or tee or sweater.

An oversized shirt looks fabulous worn undone, like a jacket

Wear over a tee that fits snuggly over your bump and a pair of loose-fit trousers tapered at the ankle. Team a smart oversized shirt with a pair of heels, and you’re instantly office-ready.

For a stylish pregnancy, a cape or poncho is a must-have

It’s the perfect fit for a big tummy and has an instant air of sophistication. There are some great choices out there, so now’s the time to invest.
