Trying to come up with a new Mother’s Day gift every year for my boss (errr, Leonora, – if you are reading this before Mothering Sunday you need to stop right here!) can be quite difficult. I try to do something that obviously the children can do and something that their mum will enjoy. This year we are have made bath fizzers, because who doesn’t love a nice relaxing bath.
These are really easy to make so even toddlers can get involved in making them.
Make sure you follow my gift ideas on Pinterest for more ideas and don’t forget to save the pin for later.
NB: this recipe makes a large quantity of bath fizzers; we had plenty of left over mix.
Please forgive the photos, we were making these secretly in my bathroom.
To begin with combine all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them together.
In the water spritzer add water and food colouring.
Slowly squirt the water into the dry mix and then stir. Keep repeating this until the mixture looks like wet sand. You don’t want to add too much water or it will fizz up and ruin it.
Add a couple of drops of essential oils to mix. We used Honeysuckle, as it smells so good.
Add the mix into your molds and really pack it down. I did this part because EC, YC and I were making these just before bed and it does take a bit of time to do this.
Leave them to dry for at least a few hours, we left ours over night.
When they are done simple pop them out of the molds. I do highly recommend doing this over a sink, as it does get really messy.
As we had so much of the mixture left over I added that to a Tupperware box so that my charges can use it in their bath as well.
