If your hair is feeling dry and damaged and really in need of a lift, a hair mask is just what you need. Each day your hair is exposed to dust, dirt, and not to mention styling products and heat damage. Sometimes you ought to give your tresses some TLC and a hair mask is the best way to do that. Here are our favourites.
Alladale Repairing Hair Mask, Natura Siberica
We’re pretty excited about the whole Alladale collection from Natura Siberica, but we’re particularly found of their repairing hair mask. Natura Siberica, who first brought wild flowers and herb products sourced in Siberia, have turned their attention to the Scottish Highlands for their latest range. This repairing mask, made from Scottish Thistle and Siberian Cedar, strengthens hair and deeply moisturises. It works within seven minutes – perfect for those times where your hair needs a boost but you don’t have time to sit around for hours wearing a hair mask.
ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud, John Lewis
Packed with vitamin C and mineral-rich red clays, think of this as a spa treatment for your hair in a tub. It boosts circulation, nourishes hair and scalp, and makes hair so much more manageable. ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud is specially designed for dyed or chemically treated hair, but we recommend this lush formula for all hair types. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes.
Phyto Phytoelixir Intense Nutrition Mask, John Lewis
One of the original and best hair masks, your hair will literally drink up the hydration with Phytoelixir Intense Nutrition. We recommend leaving this mask on for around 30 minutes. After drying and styling, hair will feel softer and shinier than ever before. This mask will make hair feel next level healthier, we promise.
Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak, Kiehl’s
This oily mask is specifically designed for under-nourished and dehydrated hair. What’s really special about it is that when used consistently, it prevents future damage from environmental stress and heat damage. Hair feels much stronger after using, much less straw-like and much more luscious. Check out their Sunflower Colour Preserving mask if you’re looking for a mask to protect colour-treated hair.
Dove Advanced Hair Series Regenerate Nourishment Rescue Crème Mask, Boots
Perhaps a wildcard amongst my other high-end choices, this Dove hair mask is a new favourite. Infused with Red Algae + Keratin Nutri, it really helps to revitalise and nourish chemical and heat-damaged hair. We recommend using it once or twice a week and leaving on for a few hours. After a couple of uses hair will feel softer and appear noticeably stronger.
Pureology Strength Cure Restorative Masque, LookFantastic
Experiencing a lot of breakage? This Pureology masque is the one for you. Its innovative and complicated – but nonetheless incredible – Pureology Antifadecomplex and Asta-Repair formula works its magic in five minutes. It protects and strengthens while boosting colour radiance, leaving hair looking and feeling healthier than ever.
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector, LookFantastic
If you haven’t heard about Olaplex, where have you been? This hair repair treatment works absolute wonders for bleached and colour-treated hair, and even just tresses in need of a boost. It requires an initial trip to the salon for Olaplex No. 1 and No. 2; then it’s all on you to follow up the treatment at home with Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector. This treatment penetrates the bonds of the hair strand and repairs from within, helping to revive those luscious locks from before the colour damage.
