Meet East Finchley’s Newest Nursery, The Learning Experience

From infant through to preschool, north London’s newest nursery The Learning Experience is busy bringing learning to life in a new, fun and engaging way your kids are going to love.

The Learning Experience is on a mission…

The Learning Experience in East Finchley is on a mission to make a positive difference in the lives of children, their families and the community they serve by creating a joyful learning environment where children are happy to learn, play and grow.

The Learning Experience’s curriculum

The curriculum programmes at The Learning Experience are developed specifically for children 12 weeks to 5 years of age and offer a fun and joyful approach to learning by introducing a beloved cast of characters in their curriculum.

Children love learning from bright blue friend, Bubbles the Elephant, along with a number of other character friends. The Learning Experience’s characters act as coaches that teach important life lessons and skills, and they remind the children that everyone is unique in their own way. Each character has their own abilities, personality, and talents and this fosters diversity, empathy, and acceptance in little learners.

The discovery-based L.E.A.P. (Learning Experience Academic Program) curriculum is developed with the whole child in mind and helps children advance intellectually, socially and cognitively, or as they say at TLE®: Learn, Play and Grow! It follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) seven areas of learning and is registered with Ofsted to ensure an exceptional early learning experience.

Every day, The Learning Experience’s curriculum engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. Daily lessons introduce British Sign Language, foreign languages including Spanish and Mandarin, phonics, STEM, physical fitness, philanthropy, and manners. Little learners also participate in weekly enrichment programmes that include coding, mathematics, yoga, music, art and more at no additional cost.

The Learning Experience Centre

Inside and out, the details of The Learning Experience centre were deliberately selected for the purpose of keeping children healthy, safe and happy, and giving them the best early education experience possible.

The nursery has stringent COVID procedures in place and follows government guidance at all times to ensure the safety of TLE Families. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring good hygiene for everyone
  • Maintaining appropriate cleaning regimes, using standard products such as detergent
  • Keeping occupied spaces well ventilated
  • Following public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19

The nursery has a large outdoor garden, where children are able to enjoy fresh air and daily exercise, which is important to their health and wellbeing.

At times when the weather prevents the children from playing outside, the nursery enjoys the space of Make Believe Boulevard, where children can engage in roleplay activities that support imagination and creativity.

The large indoor space also doubles up as an area where children can enhance their large motor skills and reinforce curriculum lessons.

Nutritious meals

The nursery has a full-time chef, who has devised healthy menus that are accredited by Healthy Early Years London. The children are offered, breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea depending on what sessions they attend in the setting.

The chef is highly trained and is able to cater for all diets, including those of children with allergies and preferences and the kitchen has a 5-star food hygiene rating.

Parent communications

The Learning Experience are brilliant at keeping parents informed on all of the fun and learning taking place in the nursery through an innovative Show N Tell Parent App that sends photos and updates throughout the day.

Parents also receive a verbal handover with their child’s key person or key person’s buddy at the beginning and end of each day and will be invited to attend a parent conference twice a year to discuss their child’s progress.

All families at The Learning Experience enjoy staying connected with the nursery via their social media channels and you too can follow along here on Facebook and Instagram.
