How to Make a Christmas Cardboard Post Box

Yet again I’m making an activity for BB that involves posting something. This time it’s actually a Christmas letter posting activity. I thought that was particularly appropriate for this time of year.

To make this Christmas letter posting activity you will need:

• Cardboard box
• Knife
• Red paint
• Black paint
• Black pen

Start by cutting a slot near the top for the letters to go through.

Then paint the box red. When that has dried paint the bottom section black so that it looks like a post box. I also added on the pick up times, like the ones you find on a real post box. Obviously you don’t have to add this if you don’t want to. I just liked the way it looked with it on there.

I set up the Christmas letter posting activity on a low table with a pile of envelopes next to it. That way BB could play with it when every he fancies it. Often he will be playing with something else, come over and post a few letters, then go back to what he was doing.
