Practise Fine Motor Skills With This Cotton Reel Threading Busy Bag | Nanny Anita | My Baba

Threading activities is one the easiest ways to help develop fine motor skills in young children. It takes very little preparation and is an easy one to put in to a busy bag to take out and about.

To make your own your own threading with cotton reels and stars you will need:

  • Cotton reels (these came from John Lewis)
  • Stars (from Paperchase)
  • String

To add a little bit of colour to the reels I coloured them in using metallic pens.

To help stop the string fraying you can either use candle wax or nail polish to seal it. I did wax to begin with, but found that being used for while the wax began to come off.
