I remember when I was younger having one of those scratchboards that when you scratched the black covering off you got the vibrant colours hidden underneath. They were such a lot of fun, and you can recreate these DIY scratchboards with just a few items found around the home. They are simple and low cost to make and are a great addition to any busy bags or just as a simple craft.
Make sure you follow my busy bag board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
If you want to use the masking tape to create a boarder, then tape around the outside of your card.
Completely colour the card using the crayon. This is a great step for little ones to help out on.
Using a ratio of 1:1, mix the black paint with the washing detergent carefully as you don’t want to create lots of bubbles.
Using a thick paintbrush, apply an even layer of paint to your card. Then wait for it to dry before adding any more layers. We added 3 or 4 layers for it to be completely covered.
To make your colours shine through try using a toothpick, fork, coin or even fingernail.
