Paper lanterns are a simple craft to do at any time of the year. I think the last time I made these with my charges was for the Lunar New Year. This time we are turning them into Halloween paper lanterns.
Make sure you follow my Halloween board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
Turn your piece of paper landscape and draw your Halloween face on to it.
I drew the pictures out that BB wanted and then he drew over them with a black pen.
Fold the paper in half and using the ruler draw lines from the centre fold to about an inch from the outside edge of the paper.
Cut along each line.
Unfold the lantern and bend it around so that it makes a cylinder. Stable the two edges together.
Cut out a handle from another piece of paper and stable that to the top of the lantern.
Finally hang your Halloween paper lanterns up. BB wanted me to add a light to his, so I need to figure out how to get the battery powered tea light to hang from it. That should be pretty simple, right?
