Every year we seem to make at least one Harry Potter inspired Christmas tree decoration. At some point I will be able to decorate my whole tree as a Harry Potter themed one. Pretty soon after making last years one I decided that I wanted to make Harry Potter dragon egg decorations this year.
Make sure you follow my Harry Potter board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
Make sure that the eggs you get have eyelets in them. It makes it much easier to loop ribbon through, rather than gluing it on.
Start by painting your wooden eggs. I picked out some metallic colours for ours, they just seemed a little more dragon-y. You may need to apply a couple of coats of paint.
Once the paint has dried add some decorations. Trying to add scales is actually rather hard, but it did turn out nicely. BB liked adding some green sequins to his.
EC used pens to decorate his. He decided to do one inspired from How to Train Your Dragon.
Finally add some ribbon to hang them up with.
If you enjoyed making these Harry Potter dragon egg decorations be sure to check out my Harry Potter peg people, golden snitch decorations, and flying key decorations.
