Harry Potter Peg Decorations

We love making Harry Potter inspired Christmas decorations, maybe in a few more years we will have enough different ones to have a Harry Potter tree!. This year we have been making Harry Potter peg decorations.

Make sure you follow my Christmas board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.

To make your own Harry Potter peg decorations you will need:

  • Wooden clothes pegs
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil

On your wooden clothes peg draw on your designs. We did both characters from the books and the house colours.

Paint your pegs. I would recommend using a pen to draw on the facial features. It is easier to draw onto paint rather than onto the wood. The ink generally bleeds into the wood, which can ruin your decorations.

EC and I spent a lovely evening together creating some.  We decided to do a peg each of ourselves in Hogwarts clothing.  EC then decided to one of the Basilisk from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!

These decorations can simply be clipped onto your tree. If you prefer to hang them up then add a piece of thread to the top and glue it into place with a hot glue gun.
