Time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day cards, again. I know this last year has been hard, but I have also felt that the time has flown by. Last Valentine’s Day I was in Antarctica kayaking around ice bergs. This year will be very different. But no matter where I am Valentine’s Day cards still need to be sent. I really want to send out some to friends and family this year to help spread some cheer. A nice heart pop up card should hopefully do the trick.
Make sure you follow my Valentine’s Board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
Start by folding a piece of card stock in half. Then cut 2 slits per heart that you want to pop up into the folded side of the card. Open the card up and push those tabs that you have created up so that they stand up.
Draw and cut out some hearts and stick them to the those tabs.
Stick a piece of coloured card to the front heart pop up card and decorate it. BB used a heart cookie cutter to draw around. I used some of the hearts I made in the scrape hearts craft and some simple origami hearts to decorate the front of mine. YC decided to use some 3D hearts for hers.
Pretty simply right? These cards are nice and cheerful and will hopefully bring a smile to the people who receive them while we wait out this latest lockdown.
