Spring is set to receive a huge welcome from all this year following the continuous rain we’ve had to endure for weeks on end. Oh yes, winter is finally starting to melt away. Your daily skincare regime is always worthy of a revamp ahead of the warmer, brighter months, so here are a few things you should consider.
We’ve been testing out the latest advances in CBD and hemp oil-infused products, and love both new launches from Grounded and Botanics. The anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties of hemp seed oil and CBD make them a brilliant everyday product to calm and nourish problematic skin conditions, such a rosacea. Hemp oil also works to balance out oily skin, hydrating and regulating the skin’s oil production.
CBD oil uses the whole plant, including stalks and flowers, while hemp oil comes from its seeds.
Retinol is key to boosting and preserving collagen; a form of vitamin A, retinol is proven to support cellular turnover and skin elasticity. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that aids your skin’s regenerative processes, helping your body to repair damaged skin cells. I’d recommend packing both into your skincare regime. One in the morning, one in the evening.
And of course, it’s so important to protect your skin from the aging UVA rays from the sun, so look at getting a lotion that can do this. I recommend Calypso’s Sensitive Face and Neck Lotion, perfect for everyday use under make-up.
There are some fabulous new beauty brands and products popping up. We’ve been checking out EX1, the company specialising in matching the right shade of foundation for your skin tone. We’re also keeping our beady eyes on 100% cruelty-free brand Iconic London to see what they come up with next. Our hero product of the month is their Sheer Blush in six glorious shades for spring.
