Eco Period Underwear, Modibodi

Modiodi’s designs create an easier life for anybody who leaks – from teenager girls to women and men. Their innovative apparel offers reassuring protection and support, in a sustainable and inclusive way. Their range consists of a variety of stylish and uber-comfy underwear, active and swimwear, all boasting the tech you need to stop leaks from periods, pee, pregnancy and perspiration.

Modibodi’s range looks and feels like normal underwear. The collection is available in 6 absorbencies, from moisture-wicking to Maxi 24hrs, and there are detachable styles for ease of changing. If you’re wondering about the science of period underwear, it’s all down to patented Modifier Tcehnology®. Made as a three-layer component; a top layer quickly wicks away moisture, fights bacteria and stops odors, a middle layer quickly absorbs fluid and locks it away, and the third bottom layer gives you extra leak-proof protection, ensuring you are at your most secure and confident, with no leaking through to clothes, which means total freedom.

There’s a maternity range and a vegan range too, with frequent new colour and pattern drops.

Christmas magic for children with special needs

A couple whose young son suffers from an extremely rare genetic condition, have created an all-inclusive free-of-charge Santa’s grotto designed specifically to bring the magic of Christmas to other children with special needs this festive season.

Inspired by their five-year-old son Hudson, business owners Callum and Nikki McKeefery have spent the past six months transforming an old retail shop in Leicester into an enchanted grotto, designed especially for people with special needs or a disability. Santa gifts each of those visiting with a present that has been bought specifically with their needs in mind. The presents, some of which have been purchased by Callum or Nikki, and others by Menphys, a Leicestershire-based charity that aims to provide services and activities that support disabled children.

Introducing Oxwash, an eco-friendly way to do laundry

Oxwash is helping parents prepare for the New Year after a busy Christmas by taking the burden of washing off their ‘to-do’ lists!

Oxwash collects your laundry, ironing and items that need to be specially cleaned straight from your doorstep via their fleet of electric cargo bikes. Items are thoroughly hand-inspected, pre-treated where necessary then washed at their lagoons using state-of-the-art, low-impact washing technology.

Founded in 2018 by ex-NASA scientist, Dr. Kyle Grant, Oxwash is a cleaning partner to the likes of HURR, My Wardrobe HQ, Something Borrowed and By Rotation.

Oxwash uses an innovative technique called WET cleaning – a sustainable alternative to dry cleaning. It also uses water-saving ozone technology to sterilize fabrics at lower temperatures, thermal and biodegradable chemical processes to achieve higher than medical-grade disinfection, and dissolvable laundry bags. Traditional methods have taken their toll on the planet. Using ozone technology for disinfection maintains the integrity of the items received, by washing at low temperatures but destroying bacteria, viruses and allergens. With over 8000 customers and after lifting the lid on the wasteful commercial laundry industry, Oxwash has made it their mission to build the future of laundry, a service with no environmental impact and world class results.
