My Baba Measure / 18 July, 2019 / My Baba
From sleep training and food prep to beating holiday boredom and signing up to the ultimate NERF experience, here’s what the My Baba team are loving this week.
I haven’t “cooked” in over a week while I’ve reviewing Prep Kitchen, which has felt very odd but has freed up hours of time that I haven’t been sure what to do with. Prep Kitchen delivers healthy meals fully-prepared to your door each week and all you have to do is pop them in the oven or microwave. It sounds like a ready meal, and essentially it is, but without all the salt and preservatives that go into your typical supermarket versions. The big difference is that the meals are freshly prepared, so will last a week in the fridge or a couple of months in the freezer, which is ample. The meals — that include chicken Katsu, fisherman’s pie and BBQ pulled beef — are tailored towards muscle gain or fat loss but for all intents and purposes I felt could be eaten by anyone as part of a healthy diet. Prep Kitchen is a good one for anyone wanting to maintain a healthy diet but doesn’t have the luxury of spending hours in the kitchen, often a rarity when you have children.

“I’m bored!” is the phrase every parent is guaranteed to hear at some point this school holiday. While the iPad can provide hours of endless amusement, it has a limit and so does the amount of screen time your children should be having. The Week Junior, the current affairs mag for 8-14 year olds, has released its summer Quizzler edition, a magazine packed with brain-bending puzzles, fascinating facts and a mind-stretching mega quiz.

Any help is welcome with a new baby and Little Tummy has arrived to help you on the weaning journey, a phase that generally begins as you’re starting to go back to work. In a bid to take the pressure off, Little Tummy delivers fresh baby food to your door and — here’s the kicker — it’s no more expensive than you preparing it at home yourself. While there are loads of on-the-go purees available in supermarkets, they’re often cooked at high temperatures to prolong their shelf-life, which also destroys nutrients. Little Tummy is bringing healthy back with freshly prepared baby food. Think healthy food without the hassle.
