My Baba Measure / 30 October, 2019 / My Baba
From breastfeeding-friendly cafes and snuggly sleeping bags to an ingenious pocket money app and seriously cool ski suits, here’s what the My Baba team are loving this week.
Let’s face it — nobody carries cash anymore. So, when it comes to giving your children pocket money, stumping up your spare change isn’t an option. The Rooster Money pocket money app is going to change your life, or at least teach your kids the value of cash and simplify the doling out of pocket money. How’s it work? Download the app. Everyone gets an account and now all of their allowances are in one place. The kids can save for things, and if they’re pestering for something while you’re out, you can easily deduct the amount from their account.
Rooster Money is giving My Baba readers £10 free pocket money to help kick start their savings; just enter 3BRD4-3 during the sign-up process.

Post-natal fashion brand Sarka London has launched a campaign to highlight the cafes and restaurants in London that welcome parents and babies. We’ve all been there, hovering outside a coffee shop, wondering if it’ll be baby-friendly — ‘Will the staff be kind about the buggy?’ ‘Will it be awkward for other diners if I breastfeed?’ Sarka London is working with cafes and providing them with a baby-friendly endorsement sticker if they fit the bill, so you will not have to think twice about nipping into a London cafe you’ve never visited before.

We were blown away by Boomtown Festival this year, so picking up early bird tickets for next year is a no-brainer. The lineup will not be revealed yet but judging by this year’s (The Streets, Ms Lauryn Hill and Groove Armada), we’re not concerned. Boomtown isn’t just about the music (with over 1,000 acts, you’ll find something you like), it’s about immersing yourself in a fictitious, mystifying city. For us, it’s all about KidzTown, with its Raucous Rascals stage, radio station run by children, a baby area and child-friendly entertainment to keep them entertained throughout the festival — not to mention a wicked carnival on the Sunday to top off the weekend. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 6th November, 7pm. Early bird tickets sell out fast, so don’t miss out.
