Soak for Bits is the latest product launch from My Expert Midwife, and is a soothing bath soak specifically designed to restore the perineum and help women recover after childbirth.
Clinical data shows that 9 in 10 first time mothers who have a vaginal birth experience perineal trauma, which can cause significant discomfort during the postpartum period. To help soothe and relieve perineal discomfort, My Expert Midwife’s team of experienced midwives have developed Soak for Bits, which can be used alongside their bestselling product, Spritz for Bits.
Made with premium quality Epsom Salts, which are known to rejuvenate tired and aching bodies, Soak for Bits contains expertly chosen essential oils. These include tee tree, bergamot, and calendula which have been shown to provide instant relief from perineal soreness, and arnica which can soothe muscle aches and reduce swelling, providing new mums with much-needed relief from perineal discomfort after birth.
My Expert Midwife believes that taking a relaxing bath after childbirth should be an essential part of a new mother’s postpartum recovery routine, particularly after an episiotomy or tearing during birth, as this can help to ease pain, promote healing, and give good hygiene to the perineal area. Simply adding a scoop of Soak for Bits to a warm bath is recommended to further aid recovery, by encouraging blood flow to the perineal area and helping to reduce soreness and inflammation.

This may be through creating a unique product to help support people through this challenging time, or simply by offering a product that makes a small difference in making the day that little bit easier in the moment. The #HugFactorAwards were devised to be the next best thing to a real hug!
The winners of the 2020 awards include: Lizzie Loves, Necta & Hive, Pukka Herbs, Raw Chocolate Company, Spots & Stripes and Unbeelievable Health
Lucinda Miller, founder of NatureDoc, said:
“Several of the award-winning brands are start-ups or have launched in the last five years. They truly deserve to be recognised for their dedication to health and wellbeing, especially with children. We hope that the Hug Factor Awards will provide some joy to these wonderful brands as we can’t wait to see what they have in store for their customers in 2021.”
As a charity, Tommy’s understands that the needs of dads and partners are often overlooked during the pregnancy journey and when going through baby loss. There is very little support there for them.
That’s why Tommy’s is calling for dads and partners to be more included and supported along the pregnancy journey, to improve all parents’ mental health and wellbeing. The charity is currently raising funds to create an information and support hub, tailored to meet the overlooked needs of dads and partners. Donations made from 1-8 December 2020 will be doubled through the Big Give campaign.
Dads and partners need to know they don’t have to face anything alone, but @tommys needs your help to do this. Please head here and consider donating today to help this important cause.
