Premium baby brand Nuna is fast becoming the number one choice for A-list celebs, so we were keen to get our hands on their latest car seat, the MYTI to review its credentials.
Nuna has placed a strong emphasis on versatility with this latest car seat. Suitable for children aged 15 months to 12 years, this forward-facing seat transforms as your child grows, from harness to belt-positioning booster seat.
What sets the MYTI apart from its competitors is that from harness to booster seat, the MYTI is fully i-Size compliant at every stage of its transformation.
What is i-size?
i-Size car seats take into account your child’s weight AND height for maximum security.
The seat’s soft fabrics and padded harness together with nifty ventilation seat panels means your child can travel in comfort and avoid overheating. There’s also an additional body insert offering extra padding for smaller children.
The MYTI’s nine-position adjustable headrest and shoulder width gives you over a decade in longevity as the seat grows with your child. There are three recline positions available in both harness and booster mode – perfect for naps on the go.
What’s more – the MYTI’s integrated harness holders and easy one-click unbuckle design makes life a lot easier for parents. Once it’s time to switch to booster mode, the five-point padded harness stores easily within the seat. The integrated harness holders neatly store the buckle tongues, keeping the harness open so you can seat your child with minimum fuss.
The car seat encompasses all over impact projection via the seat’s SIP (side impact protection) system. EPS energy absorbing foam, Tailor tech memory foam, steel reinforcements and a true lock base installation ensure your child is kept safe in the event of a collision.
The MYTI car seat is installed with ISOFIX and top tether – offering a fairly straight forward custom installation. This nine position ISOFIX anchors fully support and protect children up to 19.5kg. The true lock base installation allows the seat to be anchored in ultra tight. For extra peace of mind the ISOFIX connectors have coloured indicators so you’ll know if you’ve not installed it properly.
The MYTI comes in Aspen, Caviar and Frost designs, and was released January 2019.
We’re loving the design of the MYTI, its luxurious look and feel. What sets it apart from its competitors is surely the fact that this is the only car seat to be i-Size compliant at every stage. In fact, the MYTI is one of a very few i-Size boosters available in general.
The MYTI is a forward facing seat, which is something to consider if your child is still rearward facing, but to remind you, the UK law states that from 15 months children can legally forward face in their seats.
