Parental Control, Ep 19: Skin Uncovered: Everything From Eczema And Sun Damage To Freckles And Moles

“This month I was so happy to speak with Joanna Jensen, founder Childs Farm and consultant dermatologist, Dr Jennifer Crawley. It seemed very apt to be talking-to them during National Eczema Week.

I had so many questions for these two from how to look after a baby’s skin all the way up to tween issues and sun damage throughout the ages.  I have been using Childs Farm products on my children from day one, and  I love the story behind the brand. Joanna is an absolute inspiration to women, and I always call on her for anything skin related.

During the pandemic, my hands have taken a real battering and that was one of the main reasons along with it being National Eczema week that I wanted to pick her brains.  I hope you find this podcast as interesting as I did. Do feel free to share it on the school run.” Leonora Bamford, founder of My Baba.

Joanna Jensen, founder of Childs Farm

Joanna Jensen is the founder and executive chairman of the UK’s number one baby and children’s toiletry brand, Childs Farm.

Joanna suffered dry skin as a child, however, after the birth of her second child, Bella, she discovered Bella was allergic to everything. She tried many products, but nothing was suitable, and Bella often had very sore, red raw skin. In Jo’s quest for solutions, she noticed that while there were some wonderful skincare products available for adults, there were none for children. This inspired her to create homemade products with natural ingredients that would be suitable for Bella’s hypersensitive skin, with a vision of creating a range that would also help other children.

Childs Farm

In 2010 Childs Farm, named after the farm where she lived, was born with a range of fun products that contained naturally derived ingredients that would suit every child – even those with sensitive skin. All of Childs Farm products are safe for people who may be prone to eczema.

Joanna’s relentless energy, passion and drive has seen Childs Farm grow exponentially since then to become the number one toiletries brand for babies and children in the UK.
