Kelly Simpkin-Clarke is an expert on all things motherhood and hair. Wife to world-renowned hairdresser Nicky Clarke OBE, Kelly gained a wealth of experience as a top stylist at Nicky Clarke’s London salon by styling royalty and celebrities alike. After having children, Kelly founded WeTwo, a natural hair, skin and feminine care brand on a mission to create clean and safe products for women that perform on a professional level. We caught up with Kelly to find out more.
“WeTwo has a specific focus on pregnancy, gynaecological issues and menopause,” she explains. “I believe that all women at every stage of life deserve products which are woman-kind, luxuriant in their purity and lovingly made.”
As a professional with 15 years of experience at the Nicky Clarke salon, Kelly identified the need for a pregnancy haircare range for mums-to-be. The collection was formulated and designed in collaboration with the Portland Hospital’s leading gynaecologist Miss Claire Mellon.
“It’s a range designed to support the hormonal imbalance and ongoing changes that women go through during and post-pregnancy, but one that is also kind to the body,” she adds.
Kelly set out to develop unique formulations, understanding exactly how hair and skin change in these pivotal life stages. “From the onset of puberty, right through to expectant motherhood, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy to the premenopausal years, WeTwo’s ethos is to respect the constant and vital flux occurring in women’s bodies throughout the whole fertility cycle.”

Using her credentials and love of essential oils, Kelly spent three years working closely with industry experts to create a range completely safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. “WeTwo products are free from parabens, silicone, phthalates and SLS. They contain natural ingredients, all of which all vegan friendly.
“The result is a capsule haircare range, encompassing a three-step programme that comprises shampoo and conditioner. Choose ‘NOURISH’ for use during pregnancy, ‘REBUILD’ for post-partum and ‘BEYOND’ as a mother’s journey continues through womanhood.”
WeTwo uses the highest possible percentage of natural ingredients as they are kinder to Mother Earth and to mother and baby’s precious hair and skin. Kelly’s blend of natural, authentic ingredients combines effectiveness with sensitivity to offer hair and body care delicate yet robust enough to achieve the results you need at the right time.
“Ultimately, our aim is to offer products that actively promote and enhance a women’s everyday sense of wellbeing while actively avoiding the use of images, expectations, ingredients, and processes that might negatively impact self-esteem or physical wellbeing.”
WeTwo also offers a Facial Cleansing Balm, Baby Bubbles hair and body wash for little ones, and WeTwo Prescriptives, a range created in conjunction with Claire Mellon.
Clare was initially Kelly’s gynecologist and obstetrician, and their friendship and combined expertise led the two to collaborate on the launch of an Intimate Wash, a revolutionary product for feminine hygiene and care that has anti-inflammatory properties.
Future products in the WeTwo range will include products specifically designed for menopause.
